Little Bear’s Music Classes have been set up by Holly Hitchen, a music therapist with over 15 years experience of working with young children.
Classes have been designed with the aim of providing a fun, creative, stimulating and supportive environment in which children and their caregivers can explore different aspects of music making through a range of shared activities. Live music is used in all classes and activities include singing, playing instruments, puppets and stories.
Classes can provide opportunities for social interaction with others through live music making. Musical activities can help support the development of the parent/caregiver child relationship by providing a fun, motivating method of interaction.
Holly can also provide advice on activities for caregivers and their children to carry out at home with the aim of further developing skills and supporting relationships.
Why Music?
Music is motivating, fun and because it is globally processed in the brain can support development of physical, cognitive, communication, social and emotional skills.
Almost everyone responds to music, regardless of any physical or cognitive disability.
Music is nonverbal which means that it can help people express themselves without the need for words.

Sessions happen on a Wednesday morning in Jacobs Well Village Hall.
