The new Kumon Farnham Study Centre has opened, and will offer Kumon’s unique maths and English programmes to children of all ages and abilities. Established for over 50 years, the programmes enable children to develop their study skills and confidently tackle advanced work.

Through the maths and English programmes, Kumon will nurture your child’s independent study skills, so they can apply this approach to all subjects and outside of school too. Kumon develops children through the acquisition of independent learning skills, rather than teaching in the conventional sense. Your child will therefore be equipped with the ability to learn for themselves so they do not become dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – again ensuring that the material each one encounters extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability. This kind of individual differentiation is a unique benefit of the programme and makes it an effective complement to the school curriculum.

Your child will initially start at a comfortable level, with a focus on building a strong foundation in the way they study; they will develop invaluable study skills such as concentration, pace and rhythm, before confidently tackling topics they will not have previously studied.

Our outlook goes far beyond school life. We are thinking of the young adult your child will become. Students will study material two, three or even more years ahead of their school level are used to working independently and are able to thrive at school and later at university. They also develop in character and become problem solvers who can take on challenges and face them with a ‘can do’ attitude.

Disha Lonergan is thrilled to be the Instructor and can’t wait to welcome local families to the new Farnham Study Centre.

Disha said: “I am exited about opening a study centre in Farnham and bringing the Kumon Method of Learning to children in the area. As a parent and instructor, I have seen children achieve so much through following the Kumon study programmes – it is immensely satisfying to see a child tackle a new problem and feel proud that they have solved it through independent thinking.”

At Kumon, learning is always for the long run: the individualised programmes enable students to progress to an advanced level, at their own pace, ensuring they maximise their ability and begin to realise their unlimited potential.

Kumon Educational is the UK’s largest supplementary education provider, with over 69,000 students studying at more than 640 study centres.

The Farnham Study Centre is located at Daniel Hall, Long Garden Walk, Farnham GU9 7HX, with classes running on Mondays and Wednesdays at 3.30-5.00pm and Saturdays at 9.00-11.00am.
