What is CrossFit?

The CrossFit  is “functional movements that are constantly varied at high intensity.” CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program, which is designed to elicit as broad an adaptational response as possible. CrossFit is not a specialized fitness program but a deliberate attempt to optimize physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains. They are as follows:

The CrossFit programming is meant to be scaled and suitable for all ages and physical conditions. Anybody that has a body can be an athlete at CrossFit. The philosophy behind CrossFit training is an all inclusive lifestyle change. Our program is distinctive, if not unique, in its focus on maximizing neuroendocrine response, developing power, cross-training with multiple training modalities, constant training and practice with functional movements, and the development of successful diet strategies. At Esprit de Corps CrossFit We require all of our members to complete the Induction (except those who can demonstrate that they have completed a similar program and/or have significant CrossFit experience at another CrossFit affiliate), so that they can safely, effectively, and confidently head into our Workout of the Day (“WOD”) classes. Our Induction Course consists of two 1.5 hour lessons that covers the basics of CrossFit. You’ll practice perfect form on the movements that make up our workouts, learn how to scale movements appropriately to your own level, and start ramping up your fitness with a CrossFit workout at the end of each class. We want to offer you a chance to come in small groups so you can get the best deal possible for this. Once you complete the induction you are free then to become a member and partake in any class.
